Packaging Design FAQs

Common questions regarding our packaging design process, print specifications, and creating retail-ready products.

Do you design packaging for any specific industries?
While we work across many sectors, we have intense specialization in food & beverage packaging, cosmetics, and industrial B2B products (like adhesives and construction materials). Each sector has vastly different regulatory requirements and visual standards, which we navigate expertly.
Will you ensure the packaging design meets legal regulations?
Yes. Especially in the food and beverage sectors, strict regulations govern nutritional information, allergen declarations, and barcode placements. We design with these constraints in mind from day one, ensuring your product is compliant and ready for major retail shelves.
Can you source the physical packaging materials and printers?
Yes. Great design holds no value if it can’t be manufactured cost-effectively. We have strong relationships with specialist packaging printers across the UK and Europe. We can source the best materials (such as sustainable, biodegradable plastics or high-end foils) and manage the entire print production run for you.
We have an existing product; can you update the packaging without losing our current customers?
Absolutely. This is a common challenge known as an evolutionary rebrand. We carefully modernize the packaging design—improving readability and shelf impact—while retaining the core brand elements (like specific colours or logo shapes) that your loyal customers actively look for.
Do you provide 3D mockups of the packaging before it is printed?
Always. Before you spend a penny on expensive print plating, we provide photorealistic 3D renders of your new packaging design. This allows you to see exactly how the product will look on the shelf, from every angle, under different lighting conditions.
What format will the final design files be in?
We supply fully outlined, print-ready vector artwork (usually Adobe Illustrator PDF/EPS files). These are set up with strict adherence to the printer’s specific cutter guides (die-lines), including specified Pantone spot colours, bleed areas, and varnish layers.
Can you help us design a brand new shape for our box or bottle?
Yes, this is structural packaging design. While many clients use standard "off-the-shelf" bottles or boxes to save costs, we can design entirely bespoke structural cutter guides to give your product a completely unique, premium physical footprint.
How long does a packaging design project take?
A standard label or box design usually takes 3 to 4 weeks. If the project involves creating an entirely new brand identity from scratch alongside complex structural packaging design for multiple product variants, it can take 6 to 8 weeks. Contact us for a tailored timeline.
Will the design work well across a whole range of flavours or variants?
Yes, we design "systems", not just single boxes. We establish a core packaging architecture that allows for clear, consistent differentiation across an entire product range (e.g., changing the accent colour for different flavours while maintaining the overarching brand layout).
How much does packaging design cost?
Because packaging varies wildly—from a simple bottle sticker to a complex, multi-layered foiled cosmetic box—we quote each project individually. We need to understand the scope, the number of variants, and the printing constraints. Email Darron to get a specific quote.
